With innovative underground and surface storage systems for multiple waste streams, metroSTOR has one of the most comprehensive range of waste and recycling storage solutions in the world.
Manufactured in the UK, metroSTOR is a brand of Streetspace and its 'safer, cleaner, greener' design methodology, delivers product solutions that help make our neighbourhoods safer and more pleasant places to live. metroSTOR bin stores are designed to secure waste and recycling safely, preventing bin fires from spreading. They increase recycling rates with improved resident participation, reduce waste collections by creating additional storage capacity within the same footprint. Fitted into new development and as retrofit, they reduce costly fly-tipping with the side-waste and associated negative issues from vermin, litter and antisocial behaviour.
metroSTOR bin stores, bin room buildings, bin room dividers and bin screens give specifiers the ability to configure bespoke solutions for new-build projects using a proven product system that removes uncertainty and the potential for hidden costs during procurement, installation and aftercare. Design processes are facilitated with a library of CAD models available for download in 2D and 3D formats.
Streetspace manufactures outdoor storage and shelter products for many applications including cycle parking, mobility scooter charging units, secure buildings and plant enclosures. Our experience can help make your daily challenges in the design, specification and installation of outdoor storage, that little bit easier.

Better Neighbourhoods
At metroSTOR, we passionately believe in wise investment improving the quality of life for residents and becoming a successful generator of positive social, economic and environmental outcomes. Inadequate storage facilities invariably have a negative impact on the physical and mental well-being of residents, whether this be the daily trip to the bin-store with its overflowing bins, vermin and anti-social elements or having nowhere to store buggies or bicycles safely. These are the challenges metroSTOR products resolve every day.

Increasing Food Waste Recycling With metroSTOR FX Bin Housings
Separate food waste collection from households and businesses is expected to be made mandatory in England by 2023 as part of the Government commitment under its Resources and Waste Management Strategy.
Around 50% of local councils in the UK already collect food waste separately or as part of their green waste collection, but some 2.3Mt of household-produced food waste goes to landfill every year. The harmful methane gas emitted as food waste breaks down can be used to generate energy in an anaerobic digester plant and the current volumes going to landfill could potentially generate up to 2.7TWh of green energy.

" By implementing metroSTOR units we introduced recycling facilities at all blocks which have since been used well and has reduced general waste by a significant amount, have saved the company thousands of pounds annually, improved the estate aesthetically and in turn improved the recycling habits of residents. metroSTOR units don't look like waste units so along with what's been mentioned we have also had zero fly tipping requests logged near the new stores. "
Laurie Mancini – Waste and Recycling Officer, Northwards Housing
" East Kent Housing has successfully trialled the metroSTOR bin units for several months with a very positive response from Residents, Refuse Collectors and other contractors. It is an ideal system for our requirements, being robust, aesthetically pleasing and cost-effective, it has had a dramatic impact on the environment with less littering and fly tipping and by reducing fire risk. "
Sue Hogben – Surveyor, East Kent Housing
" Havebury Housing had a metroSTOR PSH-6 scooter store installed at a sheltered scheme in Haverhill which had a number of mobility scooters being charged in communal areas. The secure unit is fitted with integral lighting and charging points, and has proved itself to be absolutely ideal for disabled users, sitting attractively within its surroundings due to the timber cladding. "
Tony Nunn – Surveyor, Havebury Housing
" Wherever we have installed metroSTOR units we have found them to dramatically reduce instances of fly-tipping, encourage residents to dispose of the refuse and recyclables responsibly and improve the appearance of our neighbourhoods. "
Kevin Murray, Contract Performance Manager, Camden Council
" With biodiversity being high on the agenda of the Myatt's Field North project as well as being integral to the Code for Sustainable Homes requirements, we required innovative ways of introducing biodiversity into the residential areas. It was then that the metroSTOR cycle units with the green roof option was chosen to not only provide green roofs to the cycle stores, but to ensure they integrated attractively into the environmental fabric of the area.
