Is the Chinese Pistache tree the perfect tree for the southwest landscape?
A drought-tolerant hardy tree for regions where rainwater is low but still you want a good hardy tree for shade or ornamental appeal. Grows quickly and the foliage will turn a burgundy color in fall.
Trees that produce fall color
There are lots of trees that produce brilliant colors during the Autumn season. From the Crape Myrtles to the different types of Oak trees. In the Southwest desert achieving this spectacle may be more of a challenge. A challenge yes, but not impossible with some careful thought and planning. Pecan Trees
Pecan trees can be used for shade during the summer and fall seasons. They also provide lots of pecans for eating. There are many types of pecan trees and some of the most common are the Western Schley, Bradley, and the Wichita pecan trees. Right now we have lots of these trees at both stores. Privacy trees
We often get lots of questions on trees that will help block the neighbors from viewing our yard. There are actually lots of them. The photo above is a photo of Spartan junipers and they can grow up to 15 ft. tall and about 8 ft. wide. Learn more at "How to block Neighbors view of my yard".
